Your Saas Is Failing And Here’s Why

“Sebastian, I need a large following to market my saas! There’s no way I’ll ever scale”. I get this question a lot on X. So in this email, lets cover why this isn’t true, and EXACTLY how ANYONE can go viral with their saas with 0 FOLLOWERS.

Viral - Is it even possible?

Yes, its very easy. If you read this email, top to bottom, I can guarantee you you’ll start to see more success from your content, and you’ll start to compound MRR with minimal effort.

5-10 years ago you had to have a large following to start to see financial success.

When we look at well known YouTuber’s and finance influencers making hundreds of thousands a month, this is what we see, millions of subscribers. We automatically assume one can not exist without the other.

I used to think the same, when I started posting on TikTok, I was so used to getting results like this:

Every video would plateau at 250 views. I was getting no where, in my mind I assumed I needed a large following to see success, and this content game wasn’t for me.

Until I literally Paid a coach $3,000 to get the information i’m about to give to you guys for free. Are you paying attention?

This Is Not How TikTok Works!

They don’t prioritise followers like YouTube and Instagram do. It’s a GOLDMINE for beginners like you guys to BLOW UP.

One day I switched up the content I was making, I focused on a larger audience, the top of the funnel. I stopped using technical jargon, I stopped talking about small problems only business owners would have.

And the results were insane.

Thousands of people visited my Saas, and thousands were signing up.

“But Seb, I Don’t Want To Show My Face”!

I agree, there are millions of founders and marketers who have a product to sell, but don’t want to show their face. I wasn’t really one of them, but I noticed something else.

TIME. The amount of time it takes to come up with content ideas, film, edit and post was too much. There are too many variables.

So I thought to myself, what if I could take what I learned and apply this to Twitter (X), the only variable would be my content ideas, as long as I wrote in my own style every time.

And guess what. It worked! within 30 days of me posting on X, with 34 followers I hit a 250k view post, and then a 160k views, and they kept coming.

I’d proved to myself and thousands of people that going viral was possible even without a large following.

But I Had A Problem.

When I first started getting traction on TikTok, I wasn’t charging for my app. It was a free tool, people could play around with it and upgrade if they wanted.

It seemed to me a crazy idea to do this, but everyone else in the saas space seemed to be offering a “Freemium” model, so I tried it. It was a complete disaster.

People would have no investment into my app, they’d try it, and that’s about it. Nowhere near enough people were upgrading. But I didn’t want to charge outright for my app, I just didn’t think It was good enough.

Raise your hand if you’re not charging because you think your app isn’t good enough!

But one day I looked at the stats of my best TikTok videos.

259,958 unique viewers, in a 48 hour period. If i can sell 1% of those people a $50 product that would be 2,599 paying customers!

Thats $129,979MRR from 2 videos?!?!?!

Worst case, if I sold 0.1% of those viewers that was $12,997MRR!!

So I removed the free plan and stuck in a paywall. From now on, people could only use my app if they signed up for a free trial.

And It Worked!

The next week I added $1,646MRR to my business! Usage was up, feedback from users was up, everyone was happy and loved the product.

I was shocked! The best part about this, was the videos I’d posted over that week were averaging 1000 views.

So I’d proved to myself:

A) I could go viral if I wanted to

B) I didn’t actually need many views to make a lot of money

C) Deciding people wouldn’t buy my app before testing it was stupid.

So now we know we don’t need a lot of followers to go viral, or many views to make money AND we also know how to go viral even if we wanted to, can you agree with me that traffic is not a problem in your business?

Say YES in your head if you agree.

If you have the right content strategy, AND you setup a free trial for your software you’ll start to generate revenue.

But, the biggest thing that will KILL you saas business is CHURN. People not receiving the care and service they need from you as your business grows.

Making sure you give your customers what they want, fast response times, gathering feedback and implementing bug fixes quickly.

But I don’t have enough room in this email to cover everything.
